Fat

My husband nicknamed this one "the Soap-Bubble Buddha Lady" when I was about half way done with her. She makes me giggle. :-)

If anyone else works with soft pastels and can give me some suggestions on getting deeper color saturation, please do!!!

Loveable lady. I love pastels and use them to relax. It is a question if I use more the colours or my fingertips.

Your work makes me smile. I especially like your doodle of the robot. I'm only an amateur, but I think that you can get deeper color saturation by 1) blending with your finger, applying a fixative, then adding another layer of color, or 2) pressing the pastel harder into the paper to produce an impasto, which will fill the grain in the paper and create more color saturation. You could also try experimenting with oil pastels just for fun; the pastel goes on much thicker with those. Hope that helps!
